Best Friends

This is a gift for my best friend. It really expresses how close we are and what we mean to each other. She's really has changed my life for the best, so this is just how an artist says thank you. Ugh Christmas really makes me sappy... Don't worry though, I'll be back to my sarcastic cute self by New Years.

Through Space (FS#13)

So this is yet another little world I created... it's a planet and the rocket is the last survivors escaping. I took inspiration from Adventure Time. Nough said.

Close Up to Abstraction (FS#12)

Ok... can you guess what this is? I'll give you a hint, eight legs... so it's a spider's face. I drew it using one marker and made sure to do it really close up.

Unusual Perspective (FS#11)

Little shop, little shop of Horrors... Well if you guessed that the perspective is from the mouth of Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, you would be correct. I don't have a prize for you, but at least you get to see the crazy plant about to eat Audrey. I used black and white on the store and the girl because it's in a normal reality-like situation. The plant is in color because it was never real.

Considered Attentively (FS#10)

These are sketches of a crazy place in my imagination. This is the story of a girl who lives in an empty condemned house. To her this house is beautiful and a place to stay while on the run. The rest of the story I leave up to you...

Refuge (FS#9)

Here is a cartoon version of me. This is my refuge, books and music. It's when I'm happiest, in those other worlds. I used pens and highlighters to create a sketch of my refuge.

Scissors Challenge

So the title sounds pretty suspicious... actually it was an art challenge where we had to draw scissors in a creative way. I drew inspiration from Scott Pilgrim's... Ramona Flowers! She changes her image (hair) every week. I used water color and pen to create this suggestive piece.

What's Cookin' in the Kitchen?

What's Cookin' in the Kitchen?
Well at my house there is plenty of sugar to go around. Whether it's glucose tablets or glucose liquid shots there is always plenty of sugar. So I drew the sugar in my cabinet. I used color pencils on black paper.

Stop Motion Project

My artistic friends and i spent the day at Scad and at their wonderful animation workshop, we did my favorite thing in the world! We made a lego stop-motion movie! So here it is people, "December 21" created by Anna Kampfe, Audrey Murphy, Elizabeth Shemwell, and Molly Dower.

The Figure Simply (FS#8)

I like to draw figures simply, but these two are in some sort of surrealist world. I like the colors too, the white of the scissors vs. red and blue from the people contrasts in a pleasing way. It makes me feel anxious and well that's what I felt making it.

How I see it (FS#7)

Her name is Lisle and she is patient number 0. She lives in a secret hospital and with the help of her stuffed animal friend and a demon trapped in a balloon, she creates chaos around the world with her mind. I came up with this in the summer and drew how Lisle would see a good time, burning down a carnival with her friends.

Child Like (FS#3)

So the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Child like is... UNICORNS PUKING RAINBOWS! This sketch was inspired by my eccentric little brain and the wonderful artist Emi Boz.

Reflective Surface (FS#5)

So as afar as materials go... I had a good friend suggest I used tin foil because, who doesn't love to play with that stuff? No, really, who? i also used, once again my favorite tool, a pen, paint, and sharpies for this Friday Sketch. It's a little girl starring into a mirror and she finds that she has grown up to be a monster in the reflection. "This is you" is what it is called.

Inside VS. Outside (FS#4)

This was Friday Sketch Number 4. I used a ballpoint pen and water color. I did a girl and what's inside of her for this one. It's called "It's What's on the Inside". I thought it would cool to experiment with the human figure on the inside and out instead of drawing nature or something like that.

Color Inspired (FS#2)

I used markers and crayons to create a color inspired piece for my 2nd Friday Sketch. She's a happy girl thinking of the beach when suddenly her thoughts come to life. I call it "Windy Memories".

Some random doodles

Here are doodles I did over the summer. One is "Hiding Secrets" and the other is "Winter Witch" which I based off the Ice queen from Narnia.

My Photography

Here are some photographs I took over the years. I like to just walk outside and snap photos of things around me from time to time.

Democratic and Republican Extreme Cartoons

So we are doing the High Museum contest called "You decide" and it has to feature something about politics and the presidential campaigns right now. I am doing portraits of extremes of democrats and republicans. Right now I'm drawing a lot of democrats and I thought it might be nice to show some of my drawings so far. Almost none of them are done yet, but here they are.

Non-traditional Landscape (FS#1)

Here is a non-traditional landscape. I used markers and pens. It is about childhood and loss of innocence.

6 Page Still Life

Here is a six page drawing on multiple strips of paper of a specific area in the art room. I used pens and two sharpies to create a value.
